BREAD FOR THE WORLD OF HOLLAND, MICHIGAN

We can’t food-bank our way out of hunger: governments must play a crucial part in ending its causal injustices. We therefore work to build the political will to end hunger.

Have faith, end hunger.
When he spoke in Holland, Bread for the World President David Beckmann said that religiously-rooted Western Michigan might just be the epicenter of a national movement on hunger.

What we do—and what YOU can do, too

  • Use local newspaper to advocate for hungry people
  • Write personal letters to our members of Congress
  • Conduct letter-writing campaigns in our churches
  • Organize educational forums and offer speakers to address churches, area organizations, and community members
  • Organize annual faith-leaders' Hunger Justice Breakfast
  • Seek to understand hunger and poverty in the Holland area and around the world
  • Pray for our leaders and for our hungry brothers and sisters

MEET

We meet to discuss and plan initiatives on the first Wednesday of most months at 9:30 AM at Fourth Reformed Church (238 West 15th Street).
