BREAD FOR THE WORLD OF HOLLAND, MICHIGAN

We can’t food-bank our way out of hunger: governments must play a crucial part in ending its causal injustices. We therefore work to build the political will to end hunger.

Have faith, end hunger.

Meet

We meet regularly to discuss and plan initiatives. Generally (but not always), we meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 9:30 AM  at Third Reformed Church (111 West 13th Street). However, when COVID-19 conditions warrant, we meet over Google-Meet or outdoors.  To join us, just shoot us an email at hollandbreadteam@gmail.com to check on the scheduling and location of our next meeting.

Write LETTERS OR OPINION COLUMNS

We're always looking for new voices to write letters of advocacy. Start with your own experiences or with facts from Bread's national site. If you'd like more suggestions, editing, or sources, connect with us!

Conduct a letter campaign

Introduce people and leaders to Bread's cause by conducting a letter campaign at your church or other organization. Simply announce the specific issue around which you campaign is buit, and then invite people to a table to write a letter to their members of congress (see below) or other leader. If your audience is unfamiliar with Bread, you may also want to provide form letters for people to simply sign. And as always, for help, suggestions, and sample letters, connect with us!

Contact your member of congress

One can easily send email to members of Congress via the members' websites. Handwritten letters tend to be even more effective, though they may incur a significant delay in reaching their destination. For information to support your appeal, we recommend you visit Bread's national site or connect with us!
